📢 Show up Tonight to Say "No ICE In NYC!"

Last night, federal agents conducted a violent immigration raid on Canal Street, arresting numerous street vendors. The military-style operation was swiftly met by protestors ready to protect their neighbors. Masked agents pushed and shoved the demonstrators, backed by armored vehicles and assault rifles. New York City had not seen a crackdown like this under Trump’s regime, but unfortunately we expect there are more to come, especially if Zohran Mamdani is our next mayor.

So what can we do? Join tonight’s emergency action at 6:00pm in Foley Square. Send a loud, strong message that we won’t tolerate ICE in our city, and we stand with our immigrant neighbors. A group from SURJ NYC will be meeting at 5:50pm at the corner of Duane and Lafayette. Bring signs, noise makers, and follow best practice safety procedures - leave valuables at home, tell someone where you’re going, etc.

Our chapter just established a new membership program, and we’re kicking it off by setting up some new communications channels for members to get more frequent updates. In the future, rapid-response alerts like this will be sent to our all-member listserv: sign up as a member here.

There will be more actions to come, and more ways to be involved. Facing down an ever-growing fascist regime is scary, but we’ll do it together in community, and hope you’ll join us.

In solidarity,

SURJ NYC
