Today is your last chance to vote!
In NYC there are five proposals to change the city charter, with no clear right and wrong answers. You can read reporting on the proposals here, here, and here, and see statements submitted for and against the proposals by various community groups here.
Vote on the Working Families Party line so they maintain their ballot line and have more leverage to push elected officials and Democratic candidates.
There’s also still time today to join a phonebank with SURJ National to help get out the vote! Join a session from 10:00am-12:00pm or 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Trump and MAGA know they won't win the midterm elections fair and square, so they're trying to keep people from voting and votes from being counted. It's our job to show up and call out any attempts to sabotage the election. If there is interference at the polls, tampering with ballots, or threats to certification of results, we'll jump into action in coordination with other groups across the country. Are you with us? Sign up here to get more information and calls to action!
While attempts to directly interfere with elections continue to be thwarted by the courts, the Trump administration is persisting in its efforts to set a false narrative that results of the election should not be trusted – particularly in states like Alaska, California, and others.
The days after the election may be chaotic and confusing. Here are three touch points to put in your calendar so you’re ready to get into action with us:
On Wednesday, November 4th at 7:00pm, join a SURJ National call to get the latest info on election results and any efforts to sabotage them.
On Thursday, November 5th at 6:30pm, join our SURJ NYC Chapter Meeting to check-in and learn about what actions we're taking together in NYC.
On Saturday, November 7th at 12:00pm, SURJ NYC will be at the March for Democracy.
Onward,
SURJ NYC
